The April 2018 MIL-STD-881D is Now Available. The MIL-STD-881D, effective April 9, 2018, and superseding MIL-STD-881C, shall be implemented for all MDAP and MAIS programs that meet the requirements for CSDR reporting. Click here for more information.

New Features Alert!

CADE has released some new features to the Portal Home, Data & Analytics and CSDR-Submit-Review (CSDR-SR) Applications.

Below is an overview of the new features in the CADE 7.0 release by Application:

Portal Home:

Dashboard Tile Improvements: Updated several dashboard tiles to ease CSDR Reviewer & Submitter access submissions for review and submission events to upload data. You can now click the plus sign in the top right corner of the Portal Home page upon logging into CADE to add these new tiles.

Data & Analytics:

1921-3 & FPR Browse – Allows users to browse and search for 1921-3 data & Forward Pricing Rates (FPR) data. You can navigate to the My CADE dropdown and select “1921-3 & FPR Browse” to find this feature.

Business Base Data Availability – Displays 1921-3 and FPR data for contractors with contracts for a given program. Individual contractor business units are listed by location and by the number of 1921-3 data and FPRs available. You can find this feature when you select a program below the Program Contracts and Data Availability table.

CARD Widget – This new widget makes all uploaded CARDs accessible in Data and Analytics. This feature is available when you select a program below the Key Events widget.

CSDR-SR:

Program Planning Module (PPM) Updates – The PPM has been updated with several new features to assist CSDR Reviewers during the planning process. These features include the following:

  • Populating the standard plans based on metadata entered when creating a plan package and tasks, plan package search and filter capability for a program
  • A link to cPet Web to allow users to send plans to and from the PPM
  • User Interface changes
  • Consolidation of metadata at the package level

You can find these by navigating to a program inside the PPM.

Symantec ECA Certificate Sunset

As of September 25th, all Symantec issued ECA Certificates have been sunsetted (revoked), even if they have not otherwise expired. Symantec has issued guidance and provided more information on this matter. If you are affected by this, you can visit Symantec’s website for details, and courses of action here.

Application Updates

The CADE Team is pleased to announce the launch of the newly updated CADE Portal, Data & Analytics (formally known as Charts & Analytics), and CSDR-Submit/Review applications, which went live on April 6, 2017. After logging into the CADE Portal you will see a more modern looking web portal with newer features, particularly on the CADE Portal.

Highlights:

  • Customizable Dashboard: Now users can tailor their Portal Homepage by adding widgets that are tailored to their specific role in CADE.
  • Consistent Theme: No major changes to functionality or navigation, but between the CADE Portal, CSDR-Submit/Review, and CADE Data & Analytics applications, users will now have a consistent look and feel.
  • Loading Screen: Have you ever click on a button in CADE and were unaware if CADE was being responsive? Now CADE has loading screens to effectively communicate it is thinking.

We hope you find the new CADE portal fresh and modern. We are working hard to continue to ensure it contains valuable information relevant to the cost and acquisition community.

Security Updates

Due to mandated security updates, the CADE sites are turning off TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on our servers. Users with Internet Explorer 10 and below may be unable to view the site with the default settings in IE. In order to remedy this, we ask our users to change their browser’s settings.

To change your Internet Explorer settings:

  1. Click on the Settings gear in the upper right hand corner of your browser
  2. Choose Internet Options
  3. Click on the Advanced tab
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings list
  5. Check TLS 1.2, if it is not already checked

CADE WELCOMES JIAT

The Army’s Joint Integrated Analysis Tool, JIAT is now available through CADE.

JIAT provides cost and program analysts data to support a full spectrum of analysis projects including data collection, exposure to new data sources, advanced data searches and exporting data directly into cost analysis tools like CO$TAT, ACE and Excel. JIAT includes a data warehouse with searching capabilities of:

  • 9 Army and DoD standard databases include the Army’s ACDB databases
  • Libraries with over 750 CERs, over 700 cost estimating website links and resource documents

JIAT can also host and run what-if drills in both ACE and Excel models. (Some set-up required)

Look for JIAT under your CADE Analyst Applications. JIAT is available to Government Analysts only. If JIAT is not listed as one of your applications, go to Account Actions, Request Application Roles and submit a request for access by adding the comment “Request JIAT access” in the comments section and pressing Submit. The office unveiled its new “FlexFile” program yesterday. It will be applied across the department, and it gives estimators the tools needed to evaluate huge DoD programs for the 21st century.

 

CAPE, as the office is known in the building, advises defense leaders on all aspects of the department. Among their duties is evaluating the cost-effectiveness of defense programs and acquisitions.” ...
